If I didn’t exist

Laney still says the most interesting things.  Like last night at the kitchen table Laney and I remained.  We were finishing up our pumpkin pie.  I was the last one to finish.   Laney looks at me and says, “Mom.  I’m so glad you and Dad met and got married and had me.  Otherwise I wouldn’t be here.  I wouldn’t exist.  I’d just be…AIR!”  She sat and thought about this for awhile and actually got a look of fear…like she truly realized her existence in the world…or the possibility of the lack of it.  She amazes me.
