Winner: Michelle Baca

I'm a mom to a creative, active and very imaginative 4 year old, Rainee, and a step-mom (more friend than mom) to a 21 year old college student, Austin. I waited a long time for my sweet husband, Steve, and I'm blessed to have him in my life. We live in Southern California, where we have the most wonderful everyday weather. I also work full time as a graphic designer for major newspaper.

The first scrapbook I remember doing, which I still have, was in 5th grade. Over the years I've continued collecting everyday memories and would scrapbook when I could. But I truly got bit by the scrap-bug when I was pregnant with my daughter. Now, I scrapbook with my daughter practically every day. I love it when I get home from work and she says... "mommy can we go up to the scrapbook room". Scrapbooking has become a wonderful place to put memories down on pages, but also a time to make them. I also enjoy the twice a month scrapbook time I have with my friends, where we share our lives and spend time doing something we all love... scrapbooking.

As graphic designer, I love putting thing together... it's like a puzzle. Taking a memory or a silly phrase my daughter has said, a color, a season, or photo and making the subject shine on my scrapbook pages... making it more than a memory... making it something for always.  Another way I'm inspired is through scrapbook magazines, going online, sharing with my friends their scrapbook pages and photography. In college my art professor always encouraged us to carry our camera everywhere, because you never know when you'll get the perfect shot. So,I literally carry my camera with me everywhere. When my husband has to carry my purse, he's shocked at how heavy it is... Then I remind him why... it's because I don't want to miss one perfect moment. Rainee, is my biggest inspiration in scrapbooking and in enjoying life.

Everyday moments are why I love scrapbooking... they remind me what it's like to be a child again, to play, to laugh and to enjoy every second. For me, everyday moments are the ones which hold the unforgettable memories, the ones I want to be remembered on my scrapbook pages.

I'm excited and feel lucky to be apart of the Ultimate Summer Challenge Final. I look forward to  seeing what these talented women come up with. Good luck ladies. I would like to thank all those who've supported me these past 10 weeks! You can find more about me, my work and my everyday life on my blog:
